Avalon Golf Links – October 15-16, 2022

Play is governed by the Rules of Golf, the information herein, the RMJT Hard Card and Code of Conduct. Breaching a

Tour Director – Jess Miller – (214) 213-2628 Rules Referee in Charge – Morgan Wilson – (206) 992-4503

CONDITIONS OF PLAY
Teeing Area
Boys 15-19 BLACK tees                                Girls 11-19 WHITE tees
Boys 11-14 GREEN tees                                Boys + Girls & U: BLUE tees
Pace of Play
The overall pace of play is set at 4 hours 30 minutes. If your group is more than 14 minutes behind the group ahead of yours or if your group is more than one hole behind, your group is out of position, will be warned, may be timed and the players may be subject to penalty strokes. If you think your ball may be lost outside of a penalty area or out of bounds, please play a provisional ball.

Scoring, Format; Ties
All players must report to the scoring area without delay when their round is complete. The format is 2 rounds of 18-hole stroke play.  Your scorecard has been returned when you have left the scoring area. Ties for first place will result in on course playoffs. If not feasible, a scorecard playoff following USGA guidelines will be used.

LOCAL RULES / CONDITIONS OF NOTE
Preferred Lies
? Fairway / fringe - If your ball lies on sand in the general area cut to fairway height or less (meaning fairway or fringe), you may take free relief by dropping your ball within one club-length of its original lie no closer to the hole.
? Putting green - If your ball lies on the putting green in an aeration hole or on sand, you may mark, lift, clean and place your ball at the nearest point on or off the putting green to your original lie no closer to the hole.
? Bunker - If your ball lies in a bunker in a footprint, ball divot or poorly raked area or on a tuft of grass, you may lift, clean andplace your ball in the same bunker within one club-length of its original lie no closer to the hole.

Out of Bounds (OB)
OB is identified and defined by the course side edge at ground level of white posts, poles or stakes, by boundary fence posts and bythe course side edge of the paved areas surrounding the clubhouse and the maintenance building. If your ball crosses a public road and comes to rest on another part of the course, your ball is out of bounds.

Ground Under Repair (GUR)
GUR is defined by white lines, colored stakes with ropes, and colored flags. Tire ruts, muddy or depressed in the ground, are GUR. All drainage ditches are GUR with the edge being where the ground falls towards the bottom of the ditch. French drains with exposed dirt, sand or gravel are GUR. Bare dirt, gravel, sandy areas, French drains covered with grass and tree stumps are not GUR.

Penalty Areas:
Penalty Areas are identified by red stakes and by dense vegetation. Dense vegetation consists of high grass, bushes, vines, and trees growing closely together.

The edges of the Penalty Areas are defined by (in order of priority): (1) red lines; (2) the mow line between
the rough (grass) and the higher grass/reeds or dense vegetation; (3) the edge of the grass in the rough (not the higher naturalgrasses); or (4) where the ground falls towards water. When a Penalty Area is defined only on one side, the Penalty Area extends to infinity. When the other side of a Penalty Area is on the course, you may take equidistant penalty relief. No dropping zones are provided.

Immovable Obstructions (IO)
Immovable Obstructions include cart paths including curbs (dirt, gravel, stone or paved) and adjacent worn areas, landscaped area or areas of gravel enclosed by wood, cement or a cart path, hole monuments/signs, buildings, concrete pads, sprinkler heads, grate covers, utility boxes, temporary bathrooms, rock/stone/boulder walls, boulders and railroad ties/wooden supports for teeing grounds.

Doubt as to how to proceed
If you are in doubt as to how to proceed, you may decide to play two balls. You should announce which ball you wish to have count for your score before playing either ball. You must finish the hole with both balls and report the facts at scoring.

ADDITIONAL LOCAL RULES
1. If your ball is within two club-lengths of an IO, if the IO is within two club-lengths of the putting green and if your line of play is interfered with by the IO, you may take free relief.
2. If you drop your ball using back on the line relief and your ball rolls forward but comes to rest within one club-length of where it first touched the course, you have taken relief properly.
3. If your ball played from the putting green accidentally hits you, your club used for the stroke or an animal defined as a loose impediment (worms, insects and similar animals that can be easily removed), your stroke counts and your ball must be played as it lies.
4. If your club is significantly damaged during your round, other than through your abuse, you may replace the club during your
